Disconnected Thoughts

May 19, 2013
      • Went to New Orleans a few weeks ago on a spur of the moment trip (bought the ticket five days before I went) and found that the BBQ shrimp, crawfish, beignets, architecture, jazz, and general energy of the city made it worth every penny.
      • Just finished reading Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. It’s not a new book by any means, but it is proof that when you tell the bookstore clerk what you like they’re apt to be good at recommending the right thing. Beautiful.
      • The National has a new album, Trouble Will Find Me, out in a few days. The first single (Demons) is so lyrically perfect that I read it more often than I listen to it.
      • There’s an interview with Vince Gilligan over at NYMAG that you should check out if you’re a Breaking Bad fan (especially if you’re as scared about the final half-season as I am).
      • If 40 is the new 30 and 30 is the new 25, when will my hair go grey?
      • Is there anything more repulsive than someone you barely know coming up with nicknames for you?
      • Why are plane tickets so expensive from NY-LA on June 24th?
